Lego Mindstorm Winners

During the past few months a group of six Year 5 children have been working alongside Miss Thompson learning how to design, build and programme a Lego robot. Their hard work and efforts culminated in them taking part in a Lego Mindstorms Competition which was held at St John’s School. BAE Systems led the event and designed the challenges. The children had to work as a team to design their robot, programme it and work out how to overcome obstacles. They had to follow a route to collect an egg and take it to the finishing line without leaving the road.

BAE judged them on teamwork, creative thinking, problem solving, programming, accuracy, design and completion of the course. Out of the five local schools taking part our team of children were overall winners and were presented with a Lego Trophy.

We are extremely proud of our children – Fin, Owen, Harry, Evie D, Imogen and Olivia. Well done to you all!

We made it into the local newspaper too.
